BATH SPA UNIVERSITY
Bath Spa University teaches and undertakes research in art, sciences, education, social science, and business.
The Studio in Bath is the university’s first innovation centre. It provides a space for local micro-businesses, Bath Spa University students, academics, and graduates to work on creative tech projects.
THE BIG DOG ART TRAIL
The Big Dog Art Trail ran from 15 July to 3 September 2023, creating a free family-friendly walking trail through some of Swindon's most well-loved and historic parks, landmarks and streets.
It was the UK's first-ever balloon dog sculpture art trail and raised essential funds for Julia's House Children's Hospice.
SHINDIG FESTIVAL
Shindig started in 2014 and now has a reputation for combining old-skool royalty with festival mainstays, and rising stars. The festival is a mash up of a gig, a house party, a circus show, comedy night, a wellbeing retreat and a kid's party. It prides itself on having no main stage, just a beautiful arrangement of stretch marquees.
BRISTOL OLD VIC
Built in 1766 as a place where the people of Bristol could come together, Bristol Old Vic is the oldest continuously working theatre in the English speaking world. It was built as a symbol of the pride we have in our city and what it can achieve and remains a place of joy, discovery and adventure to this day.
HOLBURNE MUSEUM
The Holburne Museum is home to fine and decorative arts built around the collection of Sir William Holburne. Artists in the collection include Gainsborough, Guardi, Stubbs, Ramsay and Zoffany. The museum also provides a programme of temporary exhibitions, music performances, creative workshops, family events, talks and lectures.
SCIENCE CREATES
Science Creates is a deep tech ecosystem, supported and backed by successful entrepreneurs, that enables scientists and engineers to accelerate their ideas and build disruptive businesses. Its network of scientific startups are solving global problems with groundbreaking advancements in healthcare, the environment and quality of life.
american museum & gardens | Americana Fest
The American Museum & Gardens in Bath takes you on a journey through a period of American history primarily focused on 14th – 20th centuries. With its remarkable collection of folk, decorative arts and cultural objects, the Museum shows the diverse nature of American traditions.
Americana Fest was a collaboration between the museum and The 7 Hills Festival.
The 7 Hills
The 7 Hills is a new music festival in Bath, inspired by the sounds and culture of Americana. The lineup always includes well-known names from the world of folk, country, blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and gospel, as well as local emerging talent.
The Great Bath feast
Bath’s culinary stars come together for the Great Bath Feast’s festival weekend. The line-up is curated by Richard Bertinet, owner of The Bertinet Kitchen cookery school and founder of the Bertinet Bakery. The festival is organised by IOW.
CREATIVE BATH
Creative Bath is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that encourages creatives to share knowledge, network and collaborate for the greater good. It provides a voice for Bath’s creative sectors and seeks to ensure the economic and cultural prosperity of Bath’s creative industries.
WONDER
Wonder, launched by respected literary experts, Gill & John McLay, offers a year-round series of inspiring family book events in Bath, Bristol and beyond. Its inspiring programme of events brings some of the biggest selling children’s authors and illustrators on the planet to our cities, as well as shining a light on emerging talent.
VISIT BATH
Visit Bath is the Destination Management Organisation for the city of Bath, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, responsible for the strategic leadership of tourism. Its role is to grow and support the visitor economy through the national and international promotion of Bath and the surrounding area.
THE BATH FESTIVAL
The Bath Festival is a multi-arts festival held in May with over 120 events that include international musicians, celebrated authors, poets and storytellers in some of Bath’s most historic buildings. The Bath Festival kicks off with Bath's biggest night of free music, known as ‘Party in the City’.
BATH KIDS LIT FEST
Bath Children’s Literature Festival is the largest dedicated children’s festival in Europe. Established in 2007, this festival has brought over 2,500 incredible author and illustrator events and workshops to Bath which have been enjoyed by over a ¼ of a million children, parents and teachers.
SCHOOL GUIDE
Trusted by over 15,000 parents every day, School Guide makes it quick and easy for parents to find the best school for their child. Key school statistics are clearly presented including Primary Key Stage 2 SATs, GCSEs and A-levels, and parents can compare all their local options on the School Guide league table.
FOREST OF IMAGINATION
Forest of Imagination is a free, four-day contemporary arts event and creative learning programme, based in Bath, that aims to connect people of all ages with nature. It is a collaborative project with local creatives who reinvent spaces in the city so they’re playful, imaginative and encourage exploration.
